Here’s CSR’s Senior Management Team:
Julie Brown, President
Julie is an enthusiastic, driven, seasoned executive and market research professional with deep understanding of a wide range of research methods and their practical applications. With particular expertise in qualitative approaches, she is highly skilled in sharing in-depth, actionable analyses of results, and delivering actionable insights to clients.
An award-winning client service provider and relationship builder, Julie is at all times determined to meet her clients’ needs. To do so, she draws on over a quarter-century of experience designing, managing, and delivering industrial, customer, and product research to clients in a wide range of industries.
Prior to joining CSR, Julie served as a consultant in the areas of strategic planning, marketing planning, communications strategy, and financial planning at two HR consulting firms, where she conducted and used a considerable amount of qualitative and quantitative research. She also worked at Price Waterhouse for eight years, where she became a Certified Public Accountant before joining the Marketing Services team. Earlier in her career, Julie worked as a loan officer at two Boston-based banks.
Julie received a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA from Babson College. She has studied multiple languages, is known by her colleagues as “The Grammar Queen,” and, like her colleague Marissa, has never met a beach she didn’t like.
Jennifer Lacy, SVP, Operations
Jennifer is a big-picture thinker who is also highly detail-oriented. She’s designed hundreds of studies, and having worked on the client’s side of the market research industry, understands how important it is to deliver research projects within scope, on time, and within budget.
With over 20 years of experience in the market research profession, she’s been an executive interviewer, focus group moderator, coder, project manager, client services director, and report writer. She often writes CSR’s newsletter, Research with a Twist.
Prior to joining CSR, Jennifer headed up the custom research team for The New York Times advertising department. She has also held senior-level research positions at a handful of major market research firms.
Jennifer received a BA from Rutgers University and is ABD in a PhD in political theory from Boston College. She also earned a Masters in Social Work from Boston College, and maintains a social work license. She is an avid meditation practitioner, a Shakespeare-ophile, a huge Celtics fan, and a beekeeper.
Marissa Glowac, Vice President of Insights
Marissa tackles every engagement with a unique approach, leveraging her extensive critical thinking and structured management skills. Applying her considerable data analysis expertise and attention to detail, she relishes every opportunity to dig into data and help clients generate new and actionable insights from their research.
She has been a market researcher for more than 20 years, and currently is lead manager on many of CSR’s most complex and high-profile studies. During her tenure at CSR, she’s been involved in numerous multifaceted Thought Leadership studies involving publications and white papers, as well as Brand and Image, Customer Experience, Product Development and Concept Testing studies.
Prior to joining CSR, she managed a one-of-a-kind national research project for a Boston-based non-profit organization and also served as a Research Manager with a global business information provider. Marissa published an article on Boston Harbor beach clean-up efforts in the New England Journal of Public Policy.
Continuing the beach theme in her life, Marissa lives within walking distance of the Massachusetts shoreline. When she’s not working, Marissa enjoys paddleboarding, walking her goldendoodle (Mojo), and spinning. Marissa holds a B.A. in Economics from Colby College and an M.S. of Science in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts.
